Car Accident

The Plaintiff was a 62-year-old female restrained driver who was facing east on Orchard Street in Hillsdale at the intersection of Broadway. The intersection was controlled by a stop sign and she was the only car stopped at the sign. Subsequently, a car driven by the Defendant, attempted to make a left-hand turn from Broadway onto Orchard Street, but undercut the turn suddenly causing a head-on collision with the Plaintiff’s vehicle. As a result, the Plaintiff sustained 3 significant cervical herniations and 3 lumbar herniations. After a long period of conservative care with no meaningful pain resolution she underwent an Anterior Cervical Discectomy and Fusion with instrumentation at the C5-C6 and C6-C7 levels. Although the client maintained a verbal threshold tort option on her automobile liability policy, the first-party claim settled for $100,000.00 from the Defendant’s policy limits and her UIM claim also settled for her maximum allowable policy limits of an additional $150,000.00. All medical liens were satisfied from her No-Fault benefits. Thus, her gross combined award was $250,000.00.

The Plaintiff was a 19-year-old female restrained driver who was driving Northbound on S. Washington Avenue in Fort Lee when a vehicle operated by the Defendant, that was driving Southbound on S. Washington Avenue, attempted to make a left turn onto Sylvan Avenue and struck the Plaintiff's vehicle in the intersection. The Defendant failed to yield the right of way to the Plaintiff. The Plaintiff sustained a fractured right distal radius, requiring Open Reduction Internal Fixation. The case settled for the policy limits of $100,000.00.

Truck Accident

The Plaintiff was a 31-year-old female restrained driver who was driving in the right lane on Interstate Highway 287 in East Hanover attempting to exit, when a truck, operated by the Defendant, struck the Plaintiff's vehicle on the rear of the driver's side. As a result of the impact, the Plaintiff's vehicle spun across the highway into the left lane, facing opposite to traffic, when another vehicle then hit the Plaintiff’s front bumper on the passenger side of her vehicle. Consequently, she sustained multiple cervical and lumbar disk herniations, cervical sprain and strain, thoracic sprain and strain, lumbar sprain and strain, and a liver contusion. The location of the Defendant Totrfeasor’s company could never be discovered and by motion the Superior Court Ordered impleader of Plaintiff’s Insurance Company as a direct Defendant on her UM claim. Although the client maintained a verbal threshold tort option on her automobile liability policy and only treated conservatively with no pain management, the litigation ultimately settled for $75,000.00 prior to selecting a jury.

The Plaintiff was a 52-year-old female restrained driver who was proceeding straight in her lane on the GWB Upper Expressway, Lane 5 when suddenly and without warning the Defendant came into her lane from the right side and violently struck the front right side of her vehicle. As a result, she sustained 4 cervical herniations, 3 lumbar herniations with bilateral TMJ. She underwent a lengthy course of treatment including extensive pain management. Plaintiff’s history was significant for a prior MVA as well as laminectomy and fusion in same lumbar area sustained in the subject accident. Thus, medical nexus as well as denegation were in issue. Although the Plaintiff maintained a verbal threshold tort option on her automobile liability policy, the case settled for $200,000.00 prior to a jury trial.

Bicycle Accident

The Plaintiff was a 47-year-old female who was riding her bicycle approaching the stop sign for the entrance to the Closter Plaza when suddenly and without warning she was struck by a vehicle who failed to yield the right of way, causing the Plaintiff to be ejected from her bicycle. As a result, the Plaintiff sustained multiple personal injuries including a nondisplaced transverse fracture of the right medial malleolus. Result: $62,000.00 settlement with all medical bills paid.

Vehicular Assault

The Plaintiff was a 54-year-old male who was at his residence when the Defendant came by his house demanding access claiming that Plaintiff owed him money. After a brief altercation, the Defendant left the Plaintiff’s residence. However, after Defendant entered his vehicle he started backing out of the Plaintiff’s driveway. Plaintiff followed him to verify Defendant’s departure but Defendant then drove forward and intentionally struck him with his vehicle. The impact caused the Plaintiff to fall into a snow bank, and then Defendant ran him over with his vehicle causing injuries to Plaintiff’s right hand, leg and foot. As a further result, the Plaintiff sustained multiple cervical, thoracic, and lumbar bulges/injuries. He also sustained a closed Avulsion Fracture of 5th Metatarsal Bone of Right Foot along with Severely Torn Ligaments and Tendons of Foot/Ankle, Thoracic and Cervical Spondylosis with Radiculopathy, and Permanent Injury to the right C5 nerve root region with evidence of bilateral carpal tunnel syndrome. The first party claim (policy limits) settled for $15,000.00, and his UIM claim settled for $30,000.00.

Uber Accident

The Plaintiff was a 55-year-old female who was a restrained passenger in an Uber vehicle. While the Uber proceeded South on S Van Brunt Street in Englewood, New Jersey, the Defendant who was parked on the West side of S Van Brunt Street attempted to drive into the southbound lane of traffic and as a result crashed into the passenger side of the vehicle causing multiple injuries to the Plaintiff. As a result she several sustained cervical, thoracic, and lumbar sprains. She sustained segmental and somatic dysfunction, intervertebral disc disorders with radiculopathy, dental trauma, bilateral temporomandibular joint disorder, and multiple disc herniations. This case settled for $75,000.00.

Supermarket Accident

The Plaintiff was a 65-year-old female who was shopping at the Shop Rite supermarket in Paramus, New Jersey. She slipped and fell on a wet floor and sustained injuries to her neck, left shoulder, right elbow and lower back. She was taken to a local urgent care center via ambulance. As a result, she sustained a cervical spine strain, left shoulder partial tear of the distal subscapularis tendon, and underwent right elbow repair of a ruptured extensor tendon right elbow Despite questionable issues as to Defendant’s liability and duty of care to the Plaintiff including notice of any pre-existing dangerous condition on Defendant’s premises, the case settled for $75,000.00 prior to selecting a jury.

Car Accident

The Plaintiff was a 51-year-old female who was driving at the intersection of Continental Avenue and Independence Road in River Edge, New Jersey. The Plaintiff came to a complete stop at the controlling traffic light when a Dodge Ram, operated by the Defendant struck the rear of the Plaintiff's vehicle. The Defendant claimed that he was attempting to stop but was unable to due to so completely due to a partially cleared snowy roadway. As a result, Plaintiff sustained multiple injuries including a partial tear of her distal subscapularis tendon, bilateral C-6 radiculopathies, cervical herniations at C2-3, C3-4, C4-5, C6-7, a bulge at C5-6, left shoulder sprain and strain, lumbar sprain and strain. After conservative treatment with no pain management, Plaintiff underwent a left shoulder arthroscopy with debridement of the rotator cuff and labrum, chondroplasty of the glenoid, arthroscopic biceps tenodesis, subacromial decompression and distal clavicle excision. This case settled for $75,000.00 prior to selecting a jury.
